i've been dreaming of flower-flavored things. the air of springtime has influenced my palette. lauren made amazing lavender cookies on valentine's day that were from a book of victorian recipes. sarah also made rose sorbet last week with rose water which was so delicious. she served it to me in a little demitasse cup & i wanted so much more but didn't want to ask for it. its odd not being around ciaran. he always has little tinctures of infused alcohol & strange jars of brewing bitters-- lauren & i called him a witch doctor. when i was around him, i was in a much broader mindset of unconventional flavors for drinking & baking alike ... cucumber, oregano, basil, nuts & berries, chile powder & mole etc. tho my favorite flavor for sweet things & baking is green tea. my dad seemed proud of himself for remembering my taste when he brought me a "present" of a big tub of safeway green tea icecream-- he always talks about how green tea icecream is tasteless & gross. i think that safeway kind is rather bad but he really likes it because it's so sweet. he's cute.
