my parents want to sell their house. i'm surprised at my neutrality on the subject. i lived in that house from the time i was 12 to 18 & now i live there again. when they move, they will downsize, most likely to a space where there is no room for me. i'm leaving tucson, so thats okay & certainly i could live in town on my own as i've done before as well. this is definitely a new phase for them, as i see it. they are no longer considering my brother & i in their decisions... this is one of their first independent choices since the years before we were around. i wonder if they're beginning to feel a sense of freedom & excitement.



i burned off a little tuft of hair after drinking too many glasses of st. germain & lemon last night & then smoking a pipe.. i don't know how it happened. doesn't st. germain have low alcohol content? it's so tasty in a rocks glass over ice & a dash of lemon juice on top. though, the st. germain cocktail sounds like the ultimate in simple summer drinking--

st. germain cocktail

2 shots champagne or dry white wine
1 ½ shots st-germain
2 shots sparkling water or club soda

stir ingredients in a tall ice-filled collins glass, mixing completely.
garnish with a lemon twist.
