some of outerbridge's last works have recently come public in a show currently at the los angeles public library. these photos are all from a series he did in the 1950s in southern california & mexico. the colors are so beautifully warm & saturated. i definitely see a similarity in the light in southern arizona. although these images are incredibly nostalgic, i also find outerbridge's eye captivating.. & some of them are even slightly erie, whether in the awkward model's pose & expression or the deflated carnival carriage in mexico. i love them for their depiction of a time & place that i so romanticize.

Oooo, I love the prints you made of his- they look fabulous in your house! I love his work too so I look forward to see more of these later photos.
